The Replacement of Old CVOR/DME with a New One

On 26th of October 2015 within the framework of the official visit of Prime Minister of Japan S.Abe to the Kyrgyz Republic were signed Exchange notes between the Kyrgyz Republic Government and the Japan Government and the Grant Agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic Government and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on the project “Improvement of Equipment of the Manas International Airport”.

President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Almazbek Atambaev signed the Law "On Ratification of Exchange Notes of the Kyrgyz Republic Government and the Government of Japan and the Grant Agreement between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on the project “Improvement of Equipment of the Manas International Airport”, signed on October 26, 2015 in Bishkek. On 10th of March 2016 the law was passed by the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Implementation of the project “Improving the equipment of the Manas International Airport” allows to solve priority tasks, first of all, creates the necessary conditions for improving flight safety, and also creates favorable conditions for servicing passengers and airlines at Manas International Airport.

Within the framework of this project, azimuth-range beacon CVOR / DME was installed at the Manas International Airport. On 29th of August 2017 was carried out flight tests of new navigation equipment.

The radio navigation equipment CVOR / DME is a complex system that ensures the safety of aircraft operations, i.e. radio navigation equipment allows to safely perform escort and takeoff and landing of aircraft of any category and in difficult weather conditions. The location of the CVOR / DME radio navigation equipment is the main radionavigation point.

The staff of SE "Kyrgyzaeronavigatsia" expresses gratitude to the Japan Government and the staff of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for the rendered technical assistance and expresses readiness for further cooperation in implementing projects to improve the transport sector of the Kyrgyz Republic.
